The racebaiters and anti-Americans are now coming for golf and saying that the name of the PGA’s “Masters Tournament” is raaaacist.
Seems to me if everything is racist, nothing is.
In a ridiculous column for the left-wing sports website Deadspin, screedist Rob Parker took out after Golf’s highest honor, winning the Masters.
One would think this foolishness is supposed to be satire. But, no. Parker is totally serious.
Recently, NASCAR did the unthinkable, banning the Confederate flag from its events. After all, that move is a direct slap in the face of the sport’s paying customers. It wasn’t an easy decision. It was simply the right choice.
Even Uncle Ben’s, Mrs. Butterworth’s, and Aunt Jemima are all out of work. Their racist/stereotypical images won’t grace the packaging of some of our long-standing food products soon.
But let’s not stop there.
There’s a bigger one in the room that needs to be addressed, changed and removed.
The name “The Masters” must go.
This man is a dope.
The word “masters” in the tournament has nothing to do with “slave masters.” It means people who are great at something. A master golfer, not a slave master.
In fact, the Augusta National Invitational tournament, which started in 1939, wasn’t even called “The Masters” until several years after the tourney started.
If this tournament meant to be named after a slave master, it would have an apostrophe making it the “Master’s” tournament.
It is true the the golf course is on an old indigo plantation. But that is as close as the tournament comes to any link at all to slavery.
And notice that even 1939 — when the tournament first started — was more than 50 years after slavery had been done away with in the USA.
Instead of a real analysis of The Masters, this racebaiter simply used the name for personal aggrandizement and to get his name noticed by the Black Lives Matter terrorists so they could pat him on the head and give him a gold star for effort.
