NY Cops Tell Mayor & Council Speaker to Stay Away from Their Funerals

A growing number of New York Police Officers are signing a letter telling New York Mayor Bill de Blasio and City Council Speaker Melissa Mark-Viverito to stay away from their funerals if they are killed in the line of duty.

The Patrolmen’s Benevolent Association has posted a form letter for officers to sign to show their contempt for the way the mayor and speaker have reacted in the wake of the Eric Garner death and subsequent protests. The letter reads:

Don’t Insult My Sacrifice

I, __________________, as a New York City Police officer, request that Mayor Mill de Blasio and City Council Speaker Melissa Mark-Viverito refrain from attending my funeral services in the event that I am killed in the line of duty. Due to Mayor de Blasio and Speaker Mark-Viverito’s consistent refusal to show police officers the support and respect they deserve, I believe that their attendance at the funeral of a fallen New York City police officer is an insult to the officer’s memory and sacrifice.

What would cause members of the NYPD to take this drastic step against their boss?

After the public protests and riots over the death of Eric Garner, de Blasio has said publicly that he is training his bi-racial son, who looks black, to be polite and respectful to police because he doesn’t want the cops to shoot and kill his son. His comments have been used by a number of activists to support their cause in demanding that action be taken in the Garner death.

Mark-Viverito has also been critical of the NYPD and has sided with black activists. She has asked for a federal investigation into the death of Garner, indicating that her racist attitudes are more important to her than the truth or showing support for city’s police department.

de Blasio is a flaming liberal who only really cares about his own agenda, which evidently does not include supporting New York’s finest. If I were a member of the NYPD, I’d sign the letter and send it to de Blasio also. In fact, I would go further add the names of Barack Obama, Eric Holder and Al Sharpton to my letter and make sure a copy is sent every one of them.

Obama has basically sided with the black activists and so has Al Sharpton. Eric Holder, who is supposed to be the nation’s top cop, should be fully supporting law enforcement, but sadly he has repeatedly thrown them under the bus. It’s more important for Holder and Obama to promote their racist agenda.
