I watched the presidential debate Wednesday night and quickly noticed one general theme.
Obama accused Romney of raising taxes on middle income families. Romney refuted that and emphatically said that is not true. Obama continued to repeat the accusation even after being told it was wrong.
Obama accused Romney of lowering taxes on the wealthy. Romney refuted that and emphatically said that is not true. Obama continued to repeat the accusation even after being told it was wrong.
Obama accused Romney of being against regulations and doing away with them. Romney refuted and explained what regulations he was for and what ones he was against. Yep, Obama continued to repeat the same accusation, even after being told it was wrong.
Obama accused Romney of gutting and killing Medicare. Romney again stated this was patently wrong and explained what he would do to ensure Medicare would be around for many years. Not to break his pattern, Obama kept repeating the same accusation.
Obama accused Romney of a number of things in the first debate and virtually all of them were rebuked by Romney and shown to be false assessments of his proposed policies. But Obama kept coming back and repeating the same accusations even after being told he was wrong.
President Barack Obama had no real defense for his own policies and record and the only thing he had for the debate were the lies and inaccuracies about Romney’s policies. By the time the debate was done, Obama sounded like a broken record, (for those of you who remember records) that keeps repeating the same line over and over and over again.
This tells me two things about Obama. He really can’t defend his record during his first term in office and he just can’t stop lying about his opponent, even after being repeatedly shown they are lies just like all of Obama’s campaign ads on TV are full of lies. I hope that everyone else watching the debate saw the same things.
That first debate only confirmed my belief that Obama does not have the character qualities, nor the moral and ethical qualities of someone I want leading my country.
