Over the last six years, we’ve heard Barack Obama quote from the Bible and from the Quran. Whenever he quotes from the Quran, his words are precise and accurate. He’s never made a mistake when he reverts to his Muslim training.
But when it comes to quoting the Bible, Obama’s words are not precise nor are they accurate and he proved it again earlier this week. When discussing immigration in Nashville, Obama told the audience:
“The good book says don’t throw stones at glass houses, or make sure we’re looking at the log in our eye before we are pointing out the mote in other folks eyes.”
I conducted a thorough search through a number of different English Bible versions and none of them contain anything about glass houses. It’s possible that Obama was referring to John 8:1-11 where the scribes and Pharisees brought a woman to Jesus who had been caught in the act of adultery. They told Jesus that the Law of Moses called for the woman to be stoned to death. Then verses 6 and 7 tell us:
“This they said to test him, that they might have some charge to bring against him. Jesus bent down and wrote with his finger on the ground. And as they continued to ask him, he stood up and said to them, ‘Let him who is without sin among you be the first to throw a stone at her.’”
But Obama’s lack of Bible knowledge and understanding didn’t stop there. He then tried to equate the biblical account of Joseph and Mary and the birth of Jesus to the immigration issue in America today. He stated:
“If we’re serious about the Christmas season, now is the time to reflect on those who are strangers in our midst and remember what it was like to be a stranger.”
What has the biblical Christmas account got to do with immigration? If he was referring to Joseph and Mary as traveling to Bethlehem or of the magi traveling from afar, he obviously knows little about the history of the time. Joseph and Mary traveled to the town of Joseph’s ancestors as they were required to do. The magi traveled from another land, but in those days they did not have laws forbidding anyone from crossing their borders without proper documentation. They weren’t breaking any laws.
Illegal aliens are called illegal for a reason; they broke US federal law by crossing our border illegally. It’s a crime. Obama is comparing biblical people who were obeying the laws with millions of people who are disobeying laws. That type of comparison is wrong and unfaithful to the message of the Bible.
I’ve contended for several years that Obama is not the Christian he claims to be but a Muslim. He knows and respects the Quran better than he knows and respects the Bible. Obama has waged a war on Christianity ever since he moved into the White House. At the same time he has consistently supported and endorsed Islam. Like I’ve said before, if he walks like a Muslim, talks like a Muslim and acts like a Muslim that he must be a Muslim.
