Ocasio-Cortez goes atypically silent when she was asked about supporting Venezuela’s socialist Maduro regime.
The New York Democrat, who has had no trouble spouting off her views on many subjects she knows little about, was silent on whether the Maduro regime is legitimate, punting a question about her thoughts and deferring to her party’s leadership according to BPR.
I asked @AOC if the Maduro regime is legitimate.
“I defer to caucus leadership on how we navigate this,” she says. https://t.co/sEn2PwiOoJ

Democratic New York Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez reportedly refused to weigh in on the crisis in Venezuela when asked by a reporter on Thursday.
When asked if internationally recognized interim president Juan Guaido or Socialist leader Nicolas Maduro was Venezuela’s rightful president, Ocasio-Cortez reportedly told National Review’s John McCormack that she would defer to party leadership before taking a position on the issue.
The National Review‘s John McCormack asked the outspoken democratic socialist about the uprising in Venezuela with socialist dictator Maduro attempting to maintain control in the face of angry citizens declaring National Assembly president Juan Guaidó as president of the country.
McCormack highlighted the divide among Democrats in response to the crisis, as President Trump declared that the U.S. recognized Guaidó as the democratically elected president of Venezuela, while several Democrats lined up with Russia, China, Cuba, and others to side with Maduro.
Ocasio-Cortez’s freshman colleague in the House of Representatives, Rep. Ilhan Omar, laid the blame for the nation’s chaos squarely on the U.S. in an amazing take on how “policies that we have put in place has kind of helped lead the devastations in Venezuela.” More
This is the smartest thing she’s never said. Socialism is stupid, people who advocate for it are willfully ignorant because it always ends in violence.
She has an ignorant opinion on virtually everything else. Why not this? Could it be that she can’t come up with an excuse for the total failure of a socialist country occurring right before her eyes? Or is it that perhaps she doesn’t even know who Madura and Guaido are?

At least she’s smart enough not to follow Ilhan Omar’s ‘lead’ on this. I’m amazed she’d lower herself and ‘deffer’ to party leadership on any issue, let alone one involving a socialist Paradise like Venezuela. Lord knows she loves to hear herself talk.

Shocking…does not have an opinion on the result of Socialism…defers to her leaders for any comment…typical politician…take a stand and go from there.

Of course! The CRISIS there doesn’t fit her narrative of a socialist utopia!!!!
