The victims from Saturday’s synagogue shooting were not even cold when New York Congresswoman Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez rushed to stand on their bodies to push her left-wing agenda.
Ocasio-Cortez did take some heat for immediately politicizing the Poway synagogue in California, which resulted in one death and three wounded, but since she has no shame at all it isn’t likely she noticed.
Mere hours after the shooting, the Freshman congresscritter used the crime to push for HR 8, gun control legislation passed by the Democrat-controlled House in February. It is a bill that will never pass the Senate, nor be signed by the president.
“We have a responsibility to love + protect our neighbors. The longer the Senate delays holding a vote on #HR8, the more we put Americans at risk,” Ocasio-Cortez wrote on Twitter after saying she was “heartbroken” by the crime.

HR8 essentially outlaws handguns and would prevent anyone under 20 from owning a gun — both clearly un-American provisions.
As Reason explains the clearly unconstitutional bill:
HR8 requires that loans, gifts, and sales of firearms be processed by a gun store. The same fees, paperwork, and permanent record-keeping apply as to buying a new gun from the store. If you loan a gun to a friend without going to the gun store, the penalty is the same as for knowingly selling a gun to a convicted violent felon. Likewise, when the friend returns the gun, another trip to the gun store is necessary, upon pain of felony.
A clever trick in HR8 effectively bans handguns for persons 18-to20.
ILA/NRA executive director Chris Cox said the bill is “extreme.”
“It will also make it harder for good people to defend themselves and their families,” Cox said. “Criminals, on the other hand, will continue to get their firearms the way they always have—through the black market, theft, and straw purchases.”
Congressman Dan Crenshaw also slammed the bill:
We had a great conversation today with @RepDanCrenshaw about how #HR8 and #HR1112 exist to limit our constitutional rights under the guise of improving safety. Rep. Crenshaw is a freedom-fighting patriot and true defender of #2A. pic.twitter.com/lXJN68JNeq

Whatever the bill will or won’t do, many immediately attacked Ocasio-Cortez for “using Jewish blood” to push her political agenda.

You just embraced the antisemites Jeremy Corbyn and Ilhan Omar. Perhaps today you should just remain silent, unless you wish to apologize for your actions. https://t.co/bQjH63qMHx

Bodies aren't even cold and you're standing on their graves to promote legislation that won't have any effect. https://t.co/NzvkQwKUxm

Others noted that it was a hero with a gun who stopped what could have been a far worse massacre.
An armed hero stopped the shooter and prevented what could have been and even more horrific loss of life. California already has draconian gun laws.
How is your answer "more gun control?" https://t.co/9y44OAY4oH
