Overstock.com CEO Steps Down Amid Claims About Russia, the FBI, and Spying on Presidential Campaigns

The millionaire founder of Overstock.com has stepped down from his company with what many felt was a series of surprising claims about FBI investigations, Russian operatives, and allegations of spying on several presidential campaigns.

In a pair of  interviews, Patrick Byrne lamented about “his part” in collaborating with the FBI’s surveillance of the presidential campaigns of Hillary, Ted Cruz, and Donald Trump, as well as his part in the crooked acts of former FBI agent Peter Strzok. Byrne even claimed he bears some culpability for mass shootings.

Byrne first appeared for a 16-minute interview in Fox Business Network with David Asman and his Bulls and Bears panelists:

Then he hit the air on Fox News with an appearance on Martha McCallum’s show:

The claims Byrne makes in these videos are hard to follow, granted.

Byrne says mysterious “men in black” directed his actions and that he had a relationship with accused Russian spy Maria Butina, who is currently in jail for acting as a lobbyist who did not register as a foreign agent. He says he unknowingly took “fishy” orders from disgraced FBI agent Peter Strzok. And that he was somehow involved in the illicit surveillance of the several presidential candidates.

“I was given some fishy orders and I carried them out in 2015-2016, thinking I was conducting law enforcement,” Byrne insisted. Why exactly the CEO of an Internet company would be expected to “conduct law enforcement” is anyone’s guess.

Byne added that few of the regular rank and file in the FBI knew anything about the mysterious investigations and surveillance programs during the 2016 election. “It’s all the top [people],” he said.

“I didn’t know who sent the orders, but I did them. Last summer, watching television and some congressional hearings, I figured out where these orders came from. They came from a guy named Peter Strzok,” Byrne exclaimed.

The now former CEO also insisted he was offered a “one billion-dollar bribe” to keep his knowledge secret.

Rich Granville, CEO of the growing search engine company Yippy.com, praised Byrne in no uncertain terms characterizing him as a warrior for the right side.

“Pat Byrne fought against the establishment with everything he had,” Granville told Godfather Politics. “He stood up to the DTC with regards to naked shorting and has been an all American champion against the globalist agenda. He’s a cowboy and I hope he never shuts up.”

It’s anybody’s guess if Byrne really did have a hand in all this or not. But, with as corrupt as the FBI has become, it isn’t hard to think that Byrne is not entirely crazy.
