Benjamin J. Dillon was arrested after attempting to kidnap a 6-year-old girl, but not before he was given a major beat down by the little girl’s grandparents.
Boone County, Indiana, sheriffs arrested Dillon and charged him with attempted kidnapping after trying to spirit away the granddaughter of Patricia and Martin Roth, WTHR reported.
Dillion allegedly attempted a violent abduction last week, Channel 13 reported.
Witnesses say “Dillon kicked his way into the apartment in the middle of the night. The girl’s grandparents, Martin and Patricia Roth, fought him off and kept him away from the girl until police arrived,” the station reported.
It is possible that Dillion was on drugs at the time because of the crazed things he told police when they arrived.
A police report noted that Dillon was outside the Roth’s home when they arrived. He was “shirtless and very agitated, insisting there was a little girl in the apartment being raped” and “that the little girl was his daughter.”
Dillion then threatened the police. According to the report he said “he would fight all of us and kill us.”
The Roths told police they had never seen nor heard of the man before.
Patricia Roth said, “I was sound asleep in my bedroom and this guy came kicking in and said, ‘You have my daughter!'”
“I was nervous,” she added. “Very nervous. I was shaking so bad. I don’t understand why he picked our apartment, I’ll never figure that one out.”
“I wouldn’t want him walking back in my apartment again,” Patricia insisted. “He will regret it the next time.”
When they arrived, police found Dillon is pretty poor shape with multiple bruises, scraped, and contusions on his face and body, wounds delivered by the Roths who were not about to let some psycho take their granddaughter.
Prosecutors charged Dillon with burglary, intimidation, and resisting arrest and is being held on a $75,000 bond. He has also been forced into a substance abuse program.
