Animal rights activist group PETA is accusing Fox of denying their animated Super Bowl spot because its cartoon animals take a knee Kaepernick-style, but even liberals attacked the bad excuse for a Super Bowl ad.
The rabid animal rights group claimed that the message of their ad is to take a stand against “speciesism,” TMZ reported.
PETA insists that their ad is meant to “challenge people to expand their concept of injustice to include humans’ injustice against other species.”
During the ad, the animals all take a knee as they hum the “Star Spangled Banner” just like former NFL quarterback Colin Kaepernick. And that, PETA claims, is why Fox denied the ad.
While Fox executives were in contact with the animal rights group as the network considered the ad, all communication stopped by January 3, they say. PETA added that Fox hasn’t responded to requests to run the ad during times other than the Super Bowl, either.
PETA says it was prepared to pay the more than ten million fee a Super Bowl ad would cost.
This is far from the fist time the networks have denied PETA an opportunity to air an ad. The group was denied the ability to air an ad in 2016, as well. And the networks also took a pass on PETA’s “Veggie Love” ad.
But while PETA is trying to make it seem as if opposition to the ad was only from conservatives, the rabid animal rights group also too guff from leftist fans of Colin Kaepernick.
According to The Blaze:
Michael Harriot wrote in The Root that with its ad, “PETA colonized the Black Lives Matter Movement; disrespected Colin Kaepernick’s protest against injustice, and made a mockery of 400 years of systemic oppression by comparing Black lives to grizzly bears and bald eagles.”
Harriot’s piece was titled, “PETA’s #PetLivesMatter Super Bowl Ad Is So White, Even the NFL Is Like: ‘Come on, Son!'”
Erica Cobb, co-host of Daily Blast LIVE called PETA’s ad “so disrespectful,” explaining, “Black people already feel like dogs having clean drinking water is more important than black people have clean drinking water.”
Liberal Twitter users were also upset at PETA for its misappropriation of Kaepernick’s anti-American protests.
Not wanting to add more views or attention to PETA but I'm so tired of how consistently their "activism" is deeply oppressive, offensive, and degrading to ACTUAL HUMAN BEINGS. Of course, we shouldn't be cruel to animals but the real oppression of Black folks is not equivalent.

You're not respecting Kaepernick with this.
