Piers Morgan is one of the most outspoken opponents to the Second Amendment and the right of Americans to own guns. Ever since this Brit started speaking out and condemning America for allowing private citizens the right to bear arms and defend themselves, many, including myself have yearned for the day that he returns to his home across the Atlantic.
However, one lawmaker is using Piers Morgan as an example to push a new piece of legislation, but it’s not what you think. Oklahoma State Senator Nathan Dahm, (R-Broken Arrow) has introduced a bill into the state senate which has been given the official moniker of SB 1473. However, Dahm is calling it the Piers Morgan Constitutional Right to Keep and Bear Arms Without Infringement Act.
To sum up the heart of the bill, if passed it would allow Oklahoma residents to open carry a firearm without the need of any special license or permit, except where already prohibited such as schools and government buildings.
Describing his proposed Piers Morgan Act, Dahm said:
“The Second Amendment says the right of the people to keep and bear arms shall not be infringed, and yet when we require our citizens to jump through hoops, pay fees and undergo a process that presumes they’re guilty of something until proven otherwise, their rights are being infringed upon.”
When Morgan heard of his namesake bill, he tweeted Dahm, saying:
“Hi Senator @NathanDahm – come on my show and debate your new ‘Piers Morgan Act’. If you have the guts. http://t.co/zJIJYEbuwE … …”

“@piersmorgan Received the email invite from your producer. Working out the details but it looks like Monday evening. We can discuss it then.”

Morgan replied ‘It’s on.” Morgan’s show, Piers Morgan Live airs week nights at 9:00pm EST on CNN. I normally don’t recommend watching Morgan’s show because he’s usually a raving liberal who thinks he has the right to dictate to Americans how we should live. Someone needs to remind him that we kicked his ancestors butts out of our country almost two and half centuries ago and we can do it again if need be.
