A West Virginia University police chief was faced with calls for his firing after hate-filled Black Lives Matter activists saw a pro-police flag hanging on a wall in his home.
West Virginia University Chief W.P. Chedester was assailed by Black Lives Matter activists after a pro-police “thin blue line flag” hanging on his wall inside his home during a university zoom conference call, according to Campus Reform.
As soon as the presence of the flag was made known, leftist students began to agitate for the chief to be fired.
“During our Campus Conversation today, UPD Chief W.P. Chedester had an American flag with a blue stripe on display. After hearing feedback from our community, he realizes the hurt he has caused and has removed the flag,” the university wrote in a tweet.

The chief said that the flag was a gift, but he now understands that it is “traumatic” for some people.
In a statement the chief apologized for the flag:
I participated from my office, and on the wall behind me was an American flag with a blue stripe that I had been given as a gift. For me personally, it has always represented a way to honor the commitment I made as a first responder to protect our community. I understand now that it represents something else to many others; something that I now know was traumatic to some of our community tuning in for our Conversation. I sincerely did not have any intent to suggest that police lives matter more than Black lives nor was I intentionally trying to cause any harm or offense.
Activists still want to force the chief out despite the foolish apology.
So far, the school has not taken any action to fire him.
He should not be, of course, but these days won’t be surprising he the do end up firing him.
