Al Jazeera TV host Jamal Rayyan advocated on video for an expulsion of Jews from Israel and for Islamic jihad in defense of Palestinians.
Rayyan posted the video of his comments on Youtube in March, questioning why Palestinians “have to die” and “fight on behalf of the Arabs.” Islamic jihad, Hamas (which is a designated terror group) and the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine ensured the survival of Palestine, he said. Palestine would “spew out” the “Zionist entity” of Israel like the sea spews out foreign objects, he claimed.
“By Allah, if not for the Al-Aqsa Brigades and the PFLP, they (Palestinians Arabs) would be trampled underfoot,” Rayyan said. “If not for Hamas, they would be slaves. If not for the Islamic jihad, they would become dust.”
“Palestine will return,” Rayyan added. “Palestine is like the sea. It will spew out that which is foreign … The Zionist entity is a foreign body on Palestinian and Arab land — foreign in terms of culture, language, religion, and traditional customs. They will never succeed in changing our identity. They are foreigners, and foreigners are destined to be expelled by their surroundings. They will go back to where they came from.”
Rayyan’s comments are only the latest instance of antisemitism attributed to Al Jazeera staff. Al Jazeera posted an overtly antisemitic tweet to its English language twitter page in May 2017 and then deleted it. U.S. legislators also urged President Donald Trump’s administration to investigate the Qatar based news organization and forced the network to register as a foreign agent because of alleged undercover recordings of Israeli lobbyists that Al Jazeera reporters conducted for an exposé on how those lobbyists influence U.S. foreign policy.
Representatives of Al Jazeera did not respond to The Daily Caller News Foundation’s request for comment by the time of publication.
