A seminary in New York took a turn toward paganism despite claiming to be Christians with a new program where students can ask for forgiveness from plants.
Union Theological Seminary proudly tweeted out an announcement that during Tuesday’s chapel services they “confessed to plants.”
The left-wing seminary in New York noted that they “confessed” their climate “sins” to a bunch of potted plants.
“Today in chapel, we confessed to plants,” these nutcases wrote. “Together, we held our grief, joy, regret, hope, guilt and sorrow in prayer; offering them to the beings who sustain us but whose gift we too often fail to honor.”
“What do you confess to the plants in your life?” they added.
No, they are serious:
Today in chapel, we confessed to plants. Together, we held our grief, joy, regret, hope, guilt and sorrow in prayer; offering them to the beings who sustain us but whose gift we too often fail to honor.

The seminary added that “in worship, our community confessed the harm we’ve done to plants, speaking directly in repentance. This is a beautiful ritual.”
That’s right, this seminary is specifically rejecting Christianity by raising their own “golden calf” in the form of envirowackoism to place God.
Naturally, and correctly, the seminary came under relentless mocking.
A sampling of the taunts includes:
“‘They exchanged the truth about God for a lie and worshiped and served created things rather than the Creator …’ — Romans 1:25.”
“Uhm… this is paganism, not Christianity. Even this heathen unbeliever recognizes that.”
“End days. We are here.”
“We live in an era and are witnessing a time when all of the insane are coming out of the closet, all at once.”
“When we worship creation, rather than the Creator, we do dumb things.”
“If God ever cringed, this would probably be one of those times.”
Sometimes you just cannot spoof progressives. They do it to themselves so very well.

I confess that my hydrangea knows more theology than most of the faculty at Union.
