My initial thought when I heard this what, “huh?” I truly could not think of a single reason that would merit House Representative Maxine Waters to blast Attorney General Jeff Sessions, telling him to “go back to the plantation.”
Sessions allegedly said that he did not remember if he heard of any members from Trump’s campaign had met or had contact with the Russians. In response, Waters tweeted out, “Sessions doesn’t remember what he said, when he said it, & where he was when he said it. Don’t blame him. Time to go back to the plantation.”

Her comments come after The New York Times reported that unsealed court documents revealed that Trump and Sessions were aware of correspondence between members of the campaign and Russian actors, despite saying earlier this year they were unaware of such communications.
The documents show that former Trump campaign adviser George Papadopoulos floated the idea of meeting with the Russian ambassador in London, during a meeting in which Trump and Sessions were present.
Sessions told the Judiciary Committee earlier this year that he was unaware of any contact between the Trump campaign and Russians.
Democratic lawmakers have since called for Sessions to return to testify before the Judiciary Committee.
“He now needs to come back before the Committee, in person, under oath, to explain why he cannot seem to provide truthful, complete answers to these important and relevant questions,” Sen. Patrick Leahy (D-Vt.) said in a statement.
Even with all the reports, I still do not understand where the plantation comes in? What on earth is Waters talking about?
