The very idea of knowing one’s fate seems awfully arrogant, yet scientists continue to delve deeper into the concept of “doomsday” on a regular basis.
And while there are certainly some overreactions out there, it’s fairly easy to get the impression that our entire civilization is circling the drain in 2018.
The rampant globalism of the world’s governments has allowed the ideas of radical Islam and terrorism to bloom within society, wreaking havoc on the way that the world goes about their daily lives. At any point, a jihadist could decide to pull that trigger, engage that detonator, or hit the gas, rendering all innocents within his or her vicinity a victim.
Corporations are still very much in control of the Deep State politicians in Washington D.C., throwing the American people under the bus in order to make a buck. Because of this, we have dangerous and deadly practices and products invading our everyday life while the companies who make products such as Round Up and fentanyl enjoy wildly irrational profits.
Kim Jong Un and the North Korean military have been sending nuke-ready warning shots well into the Pacific Ocean for months.
Yellowstone’s caldera could explode at any time.
Literally, this list of end-of-days scenarios could go on forever, which almost guarantees that our civilization won’t.
Luckily, (or maybe unfortunately), for us there are scientists dedicated to gauging just how screwed we actually are. Today, these harbingers of doom decided to recalibrate their thoughts on the impeding end of civilization, and it’s not pretty.
“Scientists moved the hands of the symbolic ‘Doomsday Clock’ closer to midnight on Thursday amid increasing worries over nuclear weapons and climate change.
“The clock is now two minutes to midnight. ‘Because of the extraordinary danger of the current moment, the Science and Security Board today moves the minute hand of the Doomsday Clock 30 seconds closer to catastrophe,’ said Rachel Bronson, president of the Bulletin of the Atomic Scientists. ‘This is the closest the Clock has ever been to Doomsday, and as close as it was in 1953, at the height of the Cold War.’
“Each year, the Bulletin of the Atomic Scientists, a non-profit group that sets the clock, decides whether the events of the previous year pushed humanity closer or farther from destruction.
“Scientists blamed a cocktail of threats ranging from dangerous political rhetoric to the potential of a nuclear threat as the catalysts for moving the clock closer toward doomsday.
“The statement explaining the resetting of the time of the Doomsday Clock notes: ‘In 2017, world leaders failed to respond effectively to the looming threats of nuclear war and climate change, making the world security situation more dangerous than it was a year ago — and as dangerous as it has been since World War II. ‘
“‘The greatest risks last year arose in the nuclear realm. North Korea’s nuclear weapons program appeared to make remarkable progress in 2017, increasing risks for itself, other countries in the region, and the United States,’ the statement continued.”
The scientists went on to mention “climate change” by name, however, drawing many concerns from the global community who’ve moved beyond the faulty science of the liberal scheme.
Could we truly be this close to The End, or is science aligning with some liberal, anti-Trump ethos in an attempt to mar the President with this doomsday distinction? Perhaps it’s already too late to ever know the truth.
