Joe Biden likes to put himself into historical events he had little or no part in. Here are six lies where Biden claimed to have been in the middle of things when in fact, no evidence supports his wild claims.
These claims stretch back for many decades into his years as a Senator from Delaware. These are all incidents that Biden clearly and unmistakable said he participated in, but evidence shows he simply lied about.
The most recent is Biden’s claim to have met with families of victims of the Parkland, Florida, high school shooting. Biden also claimed that he was vice president when the shooting took place and that he met with the families after the crime.
But, the truth is, Biden was already out of office over a year before this shooting took place. Biden left office in January of 2017, but the shooting did not occur until February 14, 2018.
On August 10, though, Biden exclaimed, “Those kids in Parkland came up to see me when I was vice president.” He went on to say he met with lawmakers after the shooting and insisted they were “basically cowering, not wanting to see them. He said: “They did not want to face it on camera.”
This is all a lie. And he said this more than once.
There are at least six other times when the former vice president lied about being in the midst of some historical incident or another, according to the Washington Examiner.
Biden said his helicopter was “forced down” near Osama bin Laden’s lair in Afghanistan
“Biden claimed in multiple speeches in 2008 that he knew where Osama bin Laden was hiding because his helicopter had been ‘forced down’ nearby in the mountains of Afghanistan,” the Examiner reported.
But the truth is that the helicopter Biden was in landed to wait out a storm. They never came under fire and were not “forced down” except for the snowstorm the pilot wanted to avoid.
Even John Kerry made fun of Biden over this incident. “Other than getting a little cold, it was fine, We were going to send Biden out to fight the Taliban with snowballs,” Kerry joked in 2008. When even John Kerry is making fun of you, you really have reached the bottom.
Biden said he was a coal miner and that his family were coal miners
Biden made this claim in 2008. But, nope. He was never a coal miner, and he has no family that were, either.
Biden said he was “shot at” in Iraq
“In 2007, Biden claimed he was ‘shot at’ during the Iraq War while visiting the Green Zone, the heavily guarded area in the middle of Baghdad where the United States embassy is based,” the paper reported.
Was he? Nope. No evidence suggests this ever happened.
Biden said he called Slobodan Milošević a “damn war criminal” to his face
Biden also made this wild statement in 2008 during his last run for president. Not a single person at the 1993 meetings between Milošević and the American delegation, though, can recall such an incident.
Biden said he participated in sit-ins at segregated restaurants and movie theaters when he was young
When he was a senator in the 70s and 80s, Biden often made this claim. However, there is not one scintilla of evidence to back up his claim to have been a civil rights protester.
Biden said he criticized President George W. Bush during lengthy private meetings in the Oval Office
Biden threw out this crazy claim in 2009. But there is absolutely no evidence that Joe Biden ever had a private meeting with Bush when he was president and Joe was still a senator.
Joe Biden is a fantasist. He lies with abandon.
And this isn’t even to bring up his plagiarism scandals when he was in college and the U.S. Senate.
Take a look at the Examiner’s coverage for all the quotes and places Biden disgorged these lies.
