Socialists Honor Chicago Teachers for Abandoning Students for 10 Days

Before I say anything else, I want you all to remember that Barack Obama, a self-admitted socialist, calls Chicago his home.  Now I ask for you to recall that last September, the Chicago Teacher’s Union went on strike, closing schools for 10 days.  They turned their backs on the thousands of school kids in the Windy City, abandoning them for their own sake.

In November, the Midwest Marxism Conference was held in Chicago at Northwestern University.  Among the topics discussed at this conference was education and trade unions.  The opening speaker who kicked off the conference was Becca Barnes, a Chicago teacher who refers to capitalists as capitalistic vampires.  Another speaker at the Marxists convention was Jesse Sharkey, Vice President of the Chicago Teacher’s Union.  Many of the attendees were teachers from the Chicago area.

One attendee at this conference came away saying that he felt like their goal was to make the United States more like the former Soviet Union and that the Chicago Teacher’s Union was heavily involved with the movement.  They also praised Obama for his re-election and said that they were glad that the movement to change America started in Chicago.

So should it be any real surprise to learn that the Democratic Socialists of America held their 55th Annual Debs-Thomas-Harrington Dinner in Chicago back in May.  And should it be no real surprise to learn that the socialists honored the Chicago Teacher’s Union for:

“Consistently stand[ing] for education and professionalism.  [The union] has shown that organizing is more than just mobilization and that defending a public good requires an organized public.”

Abandoning thousands of school kids for 2 weeks, forcing many parents to make costly arrangements for someone to watch their kids is standing for education and professionalism?  In my book it’s called dereliction of duty and irresponsibility.  Why would any parent want to entrust their kids to a public school system that puts themselves first over the students?  And why would any parent want to send their kids to a public school that is rife with socialism and openly tears down what’s made America great and has vowed to make us like the former Soviet Union?

But I hope you take notice that all of this socialist and Marxist activity is centered right in Obama’s backyard.  They’re his people who have become much more open about their socialism and their goal of indoctrinating school kids to help them change America.  It doesn’t matter to them that the Soviet Union failed and collapsed.  For some reason, they have the crazed idea that they can do it better than the Russians and make it work, when in reality, it’s nothing more than the illusion of the disillusioned.
