I enjoy watching science fiction when I get the chance and sometimes I even enjoy those hokey B movies because they make me laugh. From Godzilla to Tentacles to Jaws, there have been beasts on the silver screen and television that have terrorized our nation and devoured thousands of people. In some fiction movies the beasts are created by some bad and evil scientist, and then released to wreak havoc on the general population.
But it’s all been fiction, until now.
In 2009 President Barack Obama and his team of evil liberals began to create a beast that is more powerful, dangerous and deadly than any beast we’ve ever seen in the movies. In 2010 the beast was released on the general population of America. At that time it was still not fully grown and did not present as much danger as it does now.
In 2013 the beast is almost full-grown. It has started to wreak havoc and destruction and even death throughout the streets, homes, businesses and medical institutions across the land. The effects of this beast are already being felt in the economy, jobs and health of our nation and its people.
Come January 1, 2014 the beast will be full-grown. Its size is immeasurable. Its effects are lethal. Its reach is from coast to coast and so encompassing that no man, woman or child will escape its grasp.
Those who created the beast had to steal food from other beasts in order to feed it. They told us this beast would be friendly and help all of us. This beast was supposed to solve many of the problems and issues plaguing us. But in fact the opposite is true.
Now many of those who helped to create the beast are realizing that what they have done is almost as bad as opening Pandora’s box. The beast is hungrier than they had first thought. It has already consumed the food that they stole from others to feed it and it is looking for more. If left unchecked the beast is set to consume and devour our nation and its economy. Its appetite will reach every aspect of our lives. It will consume jobs, homes, businesses, healthcare, and everything else in its path. Those who are trying to handle the beast are now turning to the victims of the beast for help in feeding.
The beast has a name, and that name is Obamacare. The person put in charge of handling the beasts is Kathleen Sibelius, Secretary of Health and Human Services. Sibelius has discovered that Obamacare is consuming far greater amounts of money than of its creators had predicted. She is turning to Congress to get more money to feed the beast but the Republican controlled House keeps telling her no.
In desperation, Sibelius has turned to the healthcare industry asking for large financial donations to help keep the beast alive. Over the past several months she has made numerous phone calls to the executives in the health industry, community organizations and even to church groups which have been at war with the beast over the contraception mandate.
Following the example of President Obama, Secretary Sibelius is violating federal law by trying to fund raise in her official federal capacity. There are federal regulations that prohibit this from taking place just as they prohibit cabinet members like Sibelius from publicly endorsing or campaigning for political candidates.
Senator Orrin Hatch (R-Utah) is not happy with what Sibelius has been doing and plans to find out if in fact she has violated federal law. Hatch said in a statement released by his office:
“To solicit funds from health-care executives to help pay for the implementation of the President’s $2.6 trillion health spending law is absurd. I will be seeking more information from the Administration about these actions to help better understand whether there are conflicts of interest and if it violated federal law.”
One of those that helped create the beast known as Obamacare is Senator Max Baucus (D-Montana). Earlier this year, Baucus announced that he was retiring from the Senate at the end of his term. According to one of his colleagues, Senator Chuck Grassley (R-Iowa) told the crowd this past Friday night that the reason Baucus was retiring was that he is fed up with the possibility that the implementation of Obamacare will be a complete disaster. He went on to describe Obamacare as a train wreck and said that it should never have left the station to begin with. Additionally he told the crowd that dissatisfaction with the beast is mounting within both parties.
It’s becoming more and more obvious to everyone, including those responsible for the beast, that we cannot sit back and do nothing.
What will it take to slay the beast before it devours all of us? The only effective way to save us from the beast is for responsible politicians to take their armor of responsibility and slay the beast like Sir George slew the dragon. Perhaps as realization is setting in this might be the case, but I wouldn’t count on it.
