The Hand of God, the Rise of Evil and Obama’s Victory

There’s a college professor, Barbara Thompson, who has written a book titled “The Gospel According to Apostle Barack – In Search of a More Perfect Political Union as Heaven Here on Earth.”

In it, Thompson compares President Obama to Jesus Christ.

“He walks the earth for a more equalized, more middle class and working poor society,” she said, comparing “apostle Barack” to “apostles” like Jesus and Martin Luther King Jr.

According to Thompson, when her son was in a bad accident and she prayed for his healing, God’s voice told her to “go on a journey with apostle Barack,” according to The College Fix.

While we cast about for explanations for Obama’s win on Tuesday, Thompson’s book raises an uncomfortable point that has hovered around Obama since before his first election. While too far-fetched and idolatrous for serious people to accept, the image of “Holy Barack” is one that seemingly large numbers of people do buy into.

The opposite side of that coin is the also large population who see Obama as the herald of evil. A recent YouTube video posted by user “ppsimmons,” discusses the biblical passage in Luke 10:18: “I beheld Satan as lightning fall from heaven.”

Through some translation work, the filmmaker comes to a conclusion that “heaven” should be “the heights,” and the phrase “lightning from the heights” in Hebrew is “Baraq U bamah.” See the video here. Essentially, the video is calling Obama the antichrist.

I’m not qualified to determine the accuracy of the filmmaker’s translations, and I sure can’t figure out Revelation except in the broadest terms, but the video represents another strain of thought that casts Obama in a supernatural (albeit unflattering ) light.

Truthfully, it’s difficult not to see Tuesday’s election as having deeper implications and reasons than the obvious. After all, in one night, we essentially saw the majority of the country reject fiscal responsibility, limited government, free markets, individual responsibility, national security, family values and personal liberty in favor of socialism. Outside the White House, hundreds of college students spontaneously gathered and started chanting “Karl Marx! Karl Marx!” and “socialism, socialism.”

Some of the state elections also brought shocking changes as the electorate voted for legalized drugs, gay “marriage” and the same slates of politicians who have dragged the country through the mud. By any measure, the results were a social, political and economic catastrophe as the country tossed out seemingly everything that made it good in favor of evil.

Obama offered us an apple, and we took a big bite.
