A transgender criminal has been arrested after going on a rampage and attacking seven white people in New York City, according to police.
The NYPD says that suspect Thomas Heard, who identifies as a woman, targeted several white people on Sunday, according to the New York Post.
Police said Heard “first sprayed a 29-year-old man in Harlem on the southbound side of the 125th Street station on the A/C/B/D lines around noon Friday and ran.”
But there was an edge of hate to the attack that have made police look at the crime as a hate crime.
“Are you white?” Heard, who is black, allegedly barked at the 23-year-old woman, before kicking her and threatening her with a sharp object, and dousing her 30-year-old boyfriend with pepper spray, cops said.
The attacks apparently started on Friday:
Heard, 37, first sprayed a 29-year-old man inside the West 125th Street 2- and 3-train station at around 11:50 a.m. Friday, then dashed out to the street, police said.
Running west along 125th Street, Heard spritzed four women and another man, ranging in age from 23 to 48, according to authorities.
She then ducked into the 1-train station at West 96th Street and at Broadway around 1 p.m., and sprayed another straphanger, a 30-year-old woman, in the face, authorities said.
Later Friday, in The Bronx, she allegedly unleashed the debilitating mist on a 55-year-old man, and kicked a 56-year-old woman in the shins on East 187th Street, cops said.
Police also say that that Heard constantly screamed about white people during the attacks.
Officials also report that Heard has 65 prior arrests for violent assaults and other crimes.
Heard is awaiting arraignment on charges of assault and hate crime charges.
