Trump Forces General Mattis Out Early

President Donald Trump forced out Secretary of Defense James Mattis two months earlier than planned. The abrupt exit comes just four days after the general resigned in protest over the president’s decision to pull all U.S. troops out of Syria.

The decision takes away Mattis’ opportunity to attend NATO ministerial meetings and to testify before Congress.

President Donald Trump asked General Jim Mattis to leave his position as Secretary of Defense early, after his decision to resign.

“I am pleased to announce that our very talented Deputy Secretary of Defense, Patrick Shanahan, will assume the title of Acting Secretary of Defense starting January 1, 2019,” Trump wrote on Twitter.

It’s not wise or classy move to criticize your boss. I don’t recall Jim Mattis pulling a stunt like this when Obama fired him. Do you? Don’t let the door hit you on the way out!

It’s evident some people that President Trump appointed were unable, or unwilling, to carry out his MAGA policies, so after two years, he’s weeding out the laggards and learning who can, and will, support his administration.
