President Donald Trump took to Twitter again on Monday to attack his nemesis, CNN, and proposed a new U.S. funded new TV news network to oppose them.
“While CNN doesn’t do great in the United States based on ratings, outside of the U.S. they have very little competition,” Trump tweeted on Monday. “Throughout the world, CNN has a powerful voice portraying the United States in an unfair…. and false way. Something has to be done, including the possibility of the United States starting our own Worldwide Network to show the World the way we really are, GREAT!”

Trump has been battling the fake news pumped out daily by CNN since the day he announced for president in 2016.
Indeed, his latest battles with the king of lies, Jim Acosta, have come to a head with the White House canceling the CNN personality’s press pass and banning him from the press room.
I say “CNN personality,” because he is no reporter. He lies about everything. Take what he said in his last appearance in the White House press room. On that day Acosta insisted that the so-called caravan migrants were not invaders and would never try to climb the fences and illegally cross into the country. He also said they were “hundreds and hundreds of miles away.” But only a few days later, those same “migrants” launched a planned attack on the border, began throwing rocks at American border agents, and tried to tear down one of our border walls.
Everything Acosta said was an outright lie.
However, this new U.S.-funded network idea the president has… umm… no.
While Trump is essentially right about his assessment of CNN, it is not likely that he will find many conservatives or Republicans ready to back his government-funded answer to CNN.
After all, everyone center right is just as fed up with the daily lies of National Public Radio (NPR) and the Public Broadcasting Corporation (PBS) and they are already funded with tax dollars. Republicans and conservatives have been trying to fully defund both PBS and NPR for decades.
No one right of center wants government money going to any state-run media.
So, mark this idea as still born.
Of course, it is easy to understand where Trump is coming from, granted. He is not a movement conservative so with his entrepreneur’s mentality this makes sense from where he is coming from. He doesn’t understand why we would oppose this, we must realize. But the truth is, no conservative will support this one.
