Director of National Intelligence Daniel Coats said Friday that there is no evidence that any foreign government directly interfered in America’s 2018 elections.
This is something we’ve known from day one, granted, but it is yet another blow to the left’s claim that Russia “interferes” in our elections.
It is simply a lie that Russia — or any other nation, for that matter — interfered in any way with the actual election, and Coats’ report reiterates that fact.
Per the Associated Press:
Coats said he has submitted a required report to President Donald Trump that says the intelligence community has not uncovered any compromise of election infrastructure that would have disrupted balloting or changed results.
Coats said the intelligence community did find a continuation of previously disclosed “influence activities” and “messaging campaigns” by countries such as Russia, China and Iran ahead of the election.
The report was issued after the president ordered that an assessment of foreign influence in elections must be made after each election.
But, really, this is no different than the 2016 elections. Every single federal agency that has looked at the elections found no foreign influence in the 2016 elections, either.
No voting systems were infiltrated.
No votes were changed.
No fake voters were inserted into the system.
No foreign government did anything to change the election, not in 2018 and not in 2016.
The closest we got was some foreign agents trying to pass fake news stories that they hoped would guide some voters to vote one what or another. But those efforts were puny and ineffective.
We’ve known this from day one. And yet the fake Russia investigation continues.
