Vegan Presidential candidate Cory Booker says the planet can’t sustain people eating meat ‘the same way America does’ while Republicans make jokes about the fast food vote.

Booker told VegNews that he became a vegetarian in 1992 because he believed it was “the best way to live in accordance to the ideals and values” that he has.

While he claims he doesn’t want to lecture Americans on what to eat and insists consumers should not be told what to eat, he said the planet can’t sustain eating meat.

“I think it has to be a part of it. You see the planet earth moving towards what is the Standard American Diet. We’ve seen this massive increase in consumption of meat produced by the industrial animal agriculture industry. The tragic reality is this planet simply can’t sustain billions of people consuming industrially produced animal agriculture because of environmental impact,” Booker said.

Democratic Presidential candidate and US Senator for New Jersey Cory Booker, who is also vegan, has said the planet can’t sustain people eating meat ‘the same way America does’ due to limited resources.

Booker, 49, discussed the environmental impact of the mass production of beef, poultry and seafood in broad terms, while pointing out that he has no plans to dictate what people can and cannot eat.

‘The tragic reality is this planet simply can’t sustain billions of people consuming industrially produced animal agriculture because of environmental impact,’ Booker told VegNews.

‘It’s just not possible, as China, as Africa move toward consuming meat the same way America does because we just don’t have enough land.’

In the interview with VegNews Booker said he hoped to educate people about ‘viable alternatives, in some cases, that taste even better’ than meat products, without pushing his lifestyle choice on anyone. More

Newt Gingrich tweeted: ‘Democrats are getting weirder and weirder-Cory Booker says “planet simply can’t sustain people eating meat”. So Democrats can get the Vegan vote and Republicans can get everyone who goes to McDonald’s, Wendy’s Burger King, Arby’s Chick-filet, Outback, Ruth’s Chris, etc., etc.’

There will soon be a meat tax proposal. You may laugh now but just wait and watch. Then they will be telling us to eat insects for a cheap protein replacement.
