WaPo Fact Check Trump’s Claim He Had Burgers “A Mile High” For Clemson Tigers

President Trump hosted the Clemson Tigers at the White House after they became the national college football champions. He personally purchased the fast food for the event that was a massive haul from McDonald’s, Burger King, Wendy’s, and Domino’s.

Trump said at the banquet that he bought 1,000 burgers for Clemson and that “It was piled up a mile high.” The Post felt the need to fact check this, writing: FACT CHECK: At two inches each, a thousand burgers would not reach one mile high.

Seriously someone doesn’t understand the concept known as a figure of speech… They are no longer journalists at this point.

The White House announced Monday that “because the Democrats refuse to negotiate on border security” and “much of the residence staff at the White House is furloughed” the Clemson University football team, which just won the NCAA national championship and was coming to meet the president — would instead enjoy “some of everyone’s favorite fast foods,” which President Trump would personally pay for.

After the spread was laid out — including food from McDonalds, Wendy’s, Burger King, and Dominoe’s — Trump told reporters:

“We have the national champion team, as you know, Clemson Tigers, and they had a fantastic game against Alabama, and they’re all here, they’re right outside the room. And I think we’re going to let you see them, but I’ll bet you, as much food as we have, we have pizzas, we have 300 hamburgers, may, many French fries, all of our favorite foods. I want to see what’s here when we leave, because I don’t think it’s going to be much.” [Video]  More

The MSM ignored or gave excuses for the criminal activity by Obama and Clinton but feel the need to nitpick the number of burgers President Trump paid for out of his own pocket.

The analysis wasn’t posted under their fact-checking section and was not awarded any official Pinocchios, but it’s still indicative of the kind of treatment a Republican president receives from the MSM. Be careful and don’t use hyperboles or you may be fact-checked.
