Presidential hopeful Senator Elizabeth Warren wants the Electoral College to be abolished in time for her ‘second term,’ but says she’ll get elected the old-fashioned way in 2020.
‘I want to get rid of it,’ Elizabeth Warren said of the electoral college in a video posted on her Twitter feed.
‘So here’s my goal. My goal is to get elected and then be the last American president elected by the electoral college. I want the second term to be that I got elected by direct vote,’ she said. ‘Call me old fashioned but I think the person who gets the most votes should win.’

Twitter jumps in:
Another reason NOT to vote for you!
I wish there was the same for states so over populated cities wouldn’t overrule rural counties.

Yes, we lived in WA for 5 years, and it was sad to see the way one city (Seattle) controlled the entire state, even though it’s a state full of landowners, gunowners, ranchers, and families.

You’re doing everything in your power to not get my vote.

Screaming that Trump is blowing up the constitution while campaigning that she will blow up the constitution by getting rid of the electoral college. Typical liberal

Of course she wants to get rid of the electoral college.
It’s not working for Dems anymore.
It’s become too difficult to rig.

Look how Canada’s election turned out. Areas with less representation got bombed out by areas with collective interests, like Atlantic Canada and Toronto. The college protects smaller voices from being drowned out by bigger groups.

This should be the final nail in your campaign’s coffin @ewarren .
As if your horrendous healthcare plan wasn’t disastrous enough… you come out with a plan to destroy the foundation of our entire country… great idea.#Trump2020

You’re living in a dream world if you think the electoral college is going anywhere.
Regardless of whether you approve of it or not, you will never in a million years get state legislatures or federal legislators to vote in the numbers necessary to change it.

Actucally @notaxation is correct. The electorial college was created in order to avoid rulership by the urban centers of America.
Politicians would only visit big cities if it was merely a popular vote. Electorial college forces politicians to campaign in rural areas.

Sure lady. Get 2/3 of both houses of Congress and then get 3/4 of the states to agree.
I’m sure the entire middle America will forfeit their votes to the liberal coasts.

Anyone who wants to do away with the electoral college does not care about the vastness of this nation. They seek a power grab by pandering to a few and then ultimate control over the rest. She should be shamed widely for even suggesting it.
