Hollywood is filled with pious hypocrites on a number of issues, but celebrity chef Wolfgang Puck is a bit sick and tired of Hollywood’s hypocrisy on climate change.
Puck, who has decades of fame as a chef and top restaurateur apparently has had enough of the electric car mafia in Hollywood that have criticized him for driving a gas-powered car.
Puck recently performed a demonstration at the Metropolitan Cooking and Entertaining Show, and afterward there was time for the audience to ask some questions.
As it happens, one man asked about Martha Stewart’s previous comments at the show about climate change.
When the man in the audience brought up Stewart and her comments, Puck joked, “Oh, it wasn’t about her sex life?” As the audience laughed, Puck quickly added, “I like all kinds of women — see, older, younger, it’s OK.”
After the little quip, the audience member asked if climate change had affected Puck’s food businesses.
Puck started off reminding everyone that he was an early proponent of “sustainable” models in food distribution.
“I was always very concerned about the environment — sustainability. I’ve always believed to use local ingredients, you know?” but then he came to the detractors in Hollywood.
“So, what can we do to help? Like, I have a lot of people in Hollywood,” Puck continued. “They say, ‘oh, you’re still driving a car with gasoline’ and they are driving a Tesla. And then I find out they also fly a private jet and that uses 10 times more gas in one trip to New York and back than what I use in a year with my car.”
How true, huh?
The owner of dozens of fine dining restaurants and other restaurant outlets went on, though, to hedge his bets on the criticism by toeing the climate change line with his closing comments on the matter.
“But I think we all have to be really concerned about it,” he said from the stage.
He concluded by bashing president Trump and those who do not believe the leftist tripe about global warming.
“And I think when you think that our government today doesn’t believe in it, or at least the president doesn’t believe in global warming or anything similar to it, I think it’s really sad. But the rest of the world really, they all know we have to change because we don’t want to be responsible that one day our grandchildren are going to say we fucked up the world,” Puck concluded.
