Donald Trump Jr. blasts Russia investigation coverage: The media is ‘a blight on our republic.’
Donald Trump Jr. slammed the MSM over its handling of the Russia investigation saying that “it became a business model for most media to attack Donald Trump and to buy into this narrative.”
He’s spot on.
“They did a terrible disservice to this country, to journalism as a profession. I think they’ve done irreparable damage to the faith that the average American is going to have in terms of mainstream journalism,” said Trump Jr. in an interview with Fox News’s “MediaBuzz,” which aired Sunday. “I think it’s a blight on our republic on democracy and on our Constitution – that’s not going to come undone very quickly.”
Trump Jr’s comments follow the conclusion of the Russia investigation led by Mueller, who looked into whether President Trump’s campaign colluded with the Russian government to win the 2016 presidential election.
After Mueller submitted his final report to the Justice Department, Attorney General William Barr shared a four-page summary of Mueller’s findings with Congress last weekend which stated the investigation found no collusion between the Trump campaign and Russia. According to Barr’s four-page summary, Mueller declined to determine whether Trump obstructed justice, and Barr said he and Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein concluded there was insufficient evidence to show the president committed such a crime. I’ve been generally impressed with how Don Jr. has navigated his way through the murky swamp waters. He’s stuck to his guns and doesn’t back down to the incessant agitators and fabricators.
The Left has already pivoted from collusion to corruption because after all, it’s all about keeping the smear going. It’s the same tactics used by the Communists in Russia, China, and every place else that the radicals sought to take over the government.
I agree, the way the Russian collusion case was investigated and reported on by many networks was an absolute disgrace.
