Why Republicans Won’t Get any Political Traction on Benghazi

If anything happens over Benghazi, Obama won’t be touched, Hillary will get a pass, and the Republicans won’t get any political traction because they’re a party without ideas.

A front page, above the fold article in USA Today confirmed it for me.

“Jodi Arias guilty of murder.”

A second article appears on page 3A of the same issue:

“Arias guilty of first-degree murder.”

Please explain why her story is front-page news? Does anybody know or care who Jodi Arias is? Is the story of her conviction going to have any impact on the rest of us? It’s tragic that a man died at her hand, but four men were brutally murdered by a mob of terrorists and it’s possible that the Obama Administration was derelict in its duty to respond in an appropriate way.

Did people lie? Was there a cover-up? The media are downplaying the implications of the story because of the damage it will do to the White House. Here and there you’ll see media outrage, but that’s all it is or ever will be. The president and his minions will not be touched.

There was a story on page 4A if the same issue of USA Today  that carried the Jodie Arias story with the headline “Benghazi Whistle-Blowers Testify at House Hearing.”

If this had been the Bush Administration, the story would have been on the front page and carried this headline:

“Bush Administration on Trial for Cover-Up, Lying Under Oath, and Killing Americans. Could Impeachment be Far Behind?”

With a nation that picked Tom Hanks as the “Most Trusted Person in America” (obviously the pick of low-informtion voters) there is no doubt in my mind that most people don’t know anything about Benghazi. They are more interested in some no-name woman who stabbed her boyfriend to death.

The media will conclude that Benghazi was a tragedy. It was a shame that people died, but President Obama had no firsthand knowledge of the incident. Hillary Clinton can’t be blamed because we need her to run for President in 2016.

GOP hack Bill Kristol wants Republicans to lay off Hillary. This is the same Bill Kristol “who told Republicans in late 2012 to cave on higher taxes to President Obama.” Too many Republicans don’t know how to fight. They don’t realize we’re in a war.

There is collusion between the White House and the press. For example, Jay Carney is President Obama’s White House Press Secretary. Carney’s wife, Claire Shipman, is currently the senior national correspondent for the ABC program, Good Morning America. She is a substitute anchor on Good Morning America and World News Tonight, as well as a regular participant in the roundtable segment of ABC News’ This Week with Christiane Amanpour. Before joining ABC News, she was a White House correspondent for NBC News.

What do you think these two talk about every night?

The game is so badly rigged against the Republicans that the Republicans aren’t even invited to play.
